Katherine Tan (she/her)

PT, MS, CCTT, CFMT

Fave muscle: “The diaphragm…where would we be without our breath?”

Katherine Tan, PT, MS, CCTT, CFMT, was originally drawn to Physical Therapy as a teenager when she sustained an injury as a competitive swimmer. This early experience with rehabilitation convinced her of the importance of an integrative approach to patient care.

For over 20 years, Katherine has been practicing physical therapy in the areas of orthopedics and manual therapy. In 2008, she became a Certified Cervical and Temporomandibular Therapist (CCTT). By earning this advanced specialty certification, Katherine joined a small, elite group of physical therapists who have been recognized by the American Academy of Orofacial Pain for their dedication to the treatment of neck, jaw and head pain.

In August 2016, Katherine achieved the level of Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) through the Institute of Physical Art (IPA) becoming one of only 300 people nationally to have reached this level of training. In addition to her studies in Functional Manual Therapy, Katherine has completed extensive continuing education coursework in various areas including Myofascial Release, Visceral Mobilization, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Cervicogenic Headache, and Pelvic pain.
